Jammu, October 18, 2025 : Security and surveillance have been heightened at Jammu Railway Station to ensure safe and hassle-free travel during the festive season, officials said on Friday.
A senior team led by DCM Uchit Singhal reviewed passenger amenities, safety measures, and operational readiness at the station.
“Adequate deployment of security forces and enhanced CCTV surveillance have been ensured,” an official said. Luggage scanners, metal detectors, and additional monitoring systems have been activated across entry and exit points.
The inspection also covered cleanliness, availability of drinking water, and maintenance of waiting halls. Staff were directed to assist passengers promptly and maintain hygiene.
Food stalls were checked for quality, hygiene, and valid licenses, while vendors were instructed to follow uniform and cleanliness norms.
DCM Singhal appealed to passengers not to carry firecrackers or inflammable materials and to report suspicious activity to the RPF or helpline 139.
