Srinagar, November 12, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated the 4th edition of the International Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS), organised by the Vomedh Group, and called for collective societal efforts to eliminate terrorism and safeguard peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We must eliminate every single terror element within the society to completely restore peace. This effort requires cooperation from all sections of the public,” the Lieutenant Governor said during his address.
The LG urged filmmakers to produce films that depict the ordeals of terror victims, expose the ringleaders of the terror ecosystem, and showcase the transformation of Jammu and Kashmir post-August 2019.
“People must expose the enemies of peace by providing information to Police and Security Agencies, so that the entire terror network hiding within society is neutralised and a befitting reply is given to the evil designs of the neighbouring country,” he said.
Highlighting the achievements of the past few years, Sinha said that through the tireless and coordinated efforts of J&K Police, Army, intelligence and security forces, a fear-free environment has been established in the Union Territory, allowing youth to dream and progress.
“Society must come together to guard this peace, progress, joy, and renewed hope,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also outlined the UT Administration’s initiatives to revive Jammu and Kashmir’s historical bond with cinema, including reforms to facilitate ease of film shooting and attract national and international filmmakers.
He urged creators to maintain a balance between entertainment and social responsibility, adding that “Cinema is one of the most powerful tools for shaping social narratives, fostering cultural unity, and promoting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
