JAIPUR, August 22, 2026 : A confrontation during a visit by members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to a Government school in Jaipur’s Rampura Kanwarpura village has led to cross-FIRs, with the visiting team and local residents accusing each other of assault, intimidation and creating a disturbance.
The CJP team had reached the village on Friday as part of its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign to inspect the condition of a Government school. The visit soon turned contentious as the team members and local residents entered into a heated confrontation.
The CJP alleged that the team was attacked by villagers whom it described as “BJP goons”, while some residents claimed that the large presence of CJP members created fear and tension in the locality.
Two FIRs Registered
Shivdaspura SHO Rajesh Gautam said a local villager lodged a complaint on Friday night alleging that CJP members had arrived in large numbers and intimidated residents. According to the complaint, the incident allegedly frightened children and affected school attendance.
A second FIR was subsequently registered following a complaint by a CJP member, alleging that members of the visiting team were assaulted during the confrontation. The CJP has demanded the immediate arrest of those allegedly responsible.
CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka rejected the allegations against the organisation and claimed that the confrontation involved people allegedly brought in by BJP leaders.
“We have videos and all the evidence. If they also have evidence, let them show it,” Ranka said.
Videos Show Heated Confrontation
Purported videos circulating from the incident show a large gathering involved in a heated exchange with members of the CJP team. The footage appears to show pushing and shoving as the team attempted to enter the village.
Some clips also show smashed windows of cars, which were reportedly associated with the visiting CJP team.
The CJP alleged that villagers, purportedly accompanied by BJP workers, erected barricades and forcibly stopped the team from proceeding towards the school.
School Students Shifted
The controversy comes against the backdrop of concerns over the condition of the Government school building. The school had reportedly been operating from a cattle enclosure after its original building was declared unsafe.
On Saturday morning, authorities shifted the students to new premises.
Villagers, however, maintained that funds had already been sanctioned by the Government for repairing the school building and argued that the work could be undertaken locally.
The cross-FIRs have now added a legal dimension to the dispute, with both sides presenting competing accounts of how the confrontation unfolded. Police are expected to investigate the allegations and examine available video footage and other evidence.
