Srinagar, November 25, 2025 : The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Srinagar has dismantled a major narcotics supply module operating across Baramulla and Pulwama, seizing 2.730 kg of charas and arresting three accused, including the alleged main supplier.
NCB Intercepts 2.7 KG Charas in Kunzer
The crackdown began following specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of contraband in the Kunzer area of Baramulla.
On 20 November, NCB teams intercepted Bashir Ahmad Malla of Dhobiwan and recovered 2.730 kg of charas from his possession.
Second Arrest Following Joint Probe
A joint follow-up operation with Baramulla Police, especially Kunzer Police Station, led to the detention of Malla’s associate, Mansoor Ahmad Wani, also from Dhobiwan.
Officials said Wani played a direct role in procurement and transportation of the seized narcotics.
Main Supplier Arrested in Pulwama
Sustained interrogation of both accused led to the arrest of the alleged main supplier, Abdul Rashid Dar of Pulwama.
His arrest helped agencies map the full trafficking network, including procurement points, transportation channels, and distribution routes.
Criminal Background & Wider Network Under Scanner
Officials confirmed that all three accused have previous NDPS-related criminal history.
The bust has enabled agencies to identify multiple backward and forward linkages, with investigators now verifying financial trails and probing potential inter-state connections.
NCB’s Strengthened Presence in J&K
An official noted that the NCB office in Srinagar was set up to boost anti-narcotics enforcement capacity in Jammu & Kashmir.
Coordinated operations with district police units have significantly enhanced response against drug trafficking networks.
Further investigation is underway.
