Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, August 5, 2026 :The Citizens Justice Platform (CJP) will, for the time being, function as a pressure group rather than a political organisation, CJP leader Dipke announced on Wednesday ahead of the outfit’s core team meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
Addressing reporters before the meeting, Dipke said the country currently needs a strong pressure group to raise public concerns and ensure accountability.
“For now, CJP will be a pressure group, as what India needs now is a pressure group,” he said.
Core Team to Discuss Key National Issues
According to Dipke, the meeting will deliberate on several pressing issues, including the declining public trust in institutions such as the media and judiciary, the impact of ethanol-blended fuel, and the challenge of rising unemployment.
The discussions are expected to shape the organisation’s future strategy and public outreach on governance, transparency, and youth-related concerns.
Sonam Wangchuk to Continue as Mentor
CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said renowned activist Sonam Wangchuk will continue to serve as the organisation’s mentor.
Das stated that the CJP will continue seeking Wangchuk’s guidance on key issues while expanding its nationwide outreach.
Demand for Withdrawal of FIRs Against Students
The organisation also announced that it would press for the withdrawal of FIRs filed against students who participated in nationwide protests over the NEET paper leak and alleged examination irregularities.
Das said the CJP is in discussions with government representatives on the issue and reiterated the group’s demand for stronger measures against examination malpractices, including implementation of an effective Anti-Paper Leak law.
Legal and Medical Support for Protesters
The CJP said it is working to provide legal assistance and medical support to students who were injured during recent protests in different parts of the country.
Background of the Movement
Dipke returned to India from the United States in June 2026 to spearhead a nationwide campaign against the NEET-UG paper leak, calling for examination reforms and the resignation of the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The movement attracted widespread participation from students, particularly Generation Z, with large demonstrations held across several cities.
According to the report, the campaign eventually culminated in Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation last week. However, protests in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and parts of Bihar witnessed clashes, following which police registered multiple cases against student protesters.
As the CJP charts its next course, the organisation says its immediate focus will remain on public advocacy, student rights, and institutional accountability.
