Jammu, February 11, 2026 : National Conference (NC) senior minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on BJP legislators in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, accusing them of “unprecedented misbehaviour” and “relentless lying” during House proceedings.
Terming the conduct of BJP members as a new low, Itoo said she had never witnessed such behaviour in her two decades as a legislator.
“In my 20 years in this House, I have never seen the kind of misbehaviour that BJP members are displaying today. They are lying relentlessly. This is entirely new to my experience,” she said.
Referring to the BJP’s conduct towards Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary a day earlier, the minister described it as “intolerable” and damaging to the dignity of the House.
Itoo also said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had exercised restraint for three consecutive days, allowing the Opposition to speak while restraining treasury benches from responding.
“But when the Chief Minister finally began to reply after three days, just listen to the language used by BJP members,” she remarked.
The NC minister demanded an unconditional apology from BJP legislators, stating that their conduct warranted remorse before both the House and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“They must apologise to the entire House and to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Itoo said.
