Jammu, March 2, 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir government has disbursed ₹1,695.37 crore in compensation for land acquired for the ambitious Ring Road projects in Jammu and Srinagar, while 1,398 landowners’ cases remain pending due to litigation and other disputes, officials said.
The twin projects — the 58.25-km Jammu Ring Road connecting Raya Morh in Samba to Jagti near Nagrota, and the 60.84-km Srinagar Ring Road spanning Pulwama, Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipora — were launched in 2018 and are now in their final phases of completion.
Compensation Status: Overall Figures
Officials stated that a total compensation of ₹2,106.70 crore has been awarded for land acquisition under the projects.

Compensation in dispute-free cases is being processed regularly through the Bhoomi Rashi portal. Disputed amounts — including ₹28.20 crore in specific title cases — have been deposited before the High Court for legal resolution.
With both Ring Road projects nearing completion, authorities aim to expedite the clearance of pending cases to ensure smooth closure of land acquisition proceedings.
