Jammu, March 2, 2026 : Days after three Pakistani terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed were eliminated in Kishtwar district, the General Officer Commanding of the Army’s White Knight Corps, Lt Gen P. K. Mishra, directed all ranks to remain alert, proactive and mission-focused.
The GOC reviewed the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the hilly district during his visit. He was accompanied by Maj Gen Ajai Singh Dabas, GOC of Counter-Insurgency Force (Delta), who recently assumed command from Maj Gen A. P. S. Bal.
Praise for Delta Force
During the interaction, Lt Gen Mishra lauded the Delta Force for its unwavering dedication and operational sharpness. He emphasized maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and sustained vigilance in all operations.
“In the hinterland, vigilance is victory; firm resolve, proactive dominance and relentless action will secure lasting peace and stability,” the Corps said in a post on X.
Recent Encounter in Chatroo
On February 22, security forces neutralized three JeM terrorists, including self-styled commander Saifullah, in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar. Saifullah had reportedly evaded multiple encounters over the past year in high-altitude operations.
Crackdown on Overground Workers
Meanwhile, police have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend overground workers (OGWs) who allegedly provided logistical and material support to the slain militants. Multiple teams have been formed to trace individuals suspected of facilitating shelter, food, communication and financial channels.
Authorities reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found aiding militant activities, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the region.
