Jammu, March 3, 2026 : Police on Tuesday recovered an aeroplane-shaped balloon marked ‘PIA’ in Rajouri district, officials said.
The red and white balloon, bearing the text ‘PIA’ in Urdu—associated with Pakistan International Airlines—was found in Sarhoti village under the jurisdiction of Dharamsal Police Station.
Prompt Police Action
Locals alerted authorities after spotting the object in the area. A police team from Police Post Teryath reached the spot, secured the balloon, and seized it for further examination.
Similar Recovery Last Month
Earlier, on February 23, two balloons with a Pakistani Rs 5,000 currency note and a US dollar attached were recovered from Gunara village in the Akhnoor sector near Jammu, raising security concerns in border areas.
Authorities have reiterated that residents should immediately inform police about any suspicious objects to ensure timely action and maintain security in the region.
