Kathua, March 25, 2026 : Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma on Wednesday carried out an extensive security review and inspection of border areas along the International Border in Kathua district, directing intensified vigilance and frequent search operations.
Accompanied by operations officers, the SSP visited multiple border police posts, nurseries, and adjoining sensitive locations to assess ground preparedness and review coordination among security agencies.
During the inspection of the Haria Chak nursery area, she instructed police teams to conduct regular searches to detect any suspicious movement and strengthen surveillance in vulnerable zones.
At the Haria Chak border police post, Sharma emphasised the need to enhance monitoring by installing CCTV cameras at all border posts and naka points to ensure real-time surveillance.
She also stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination with local residents to facilitate timely information sharing and improve intelligence gathering.
The team later inspected the Maharajpur border police post, where directions were issued to expedite ongoing construction works while ensuring adherence to required security standards.
Reiterating its commitment, Jammu and Kashmir Police said it will continue to focus on proactive policing, improved surveillance, and strong inter-agency coordination to maintain peace and security in the border district.
