JAMMU, April 4, 2026 : In a major breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a wanted criminal, Gulzar Ahmad alias Lahu Gujjar, during a well-planned operation conducted by a team from Miran Sahib Police Station.
History-Sheeter Held After Long Evasion
Officials said the accused was a history-sheeter who had been evading arrest for a long time and was wanted in multiple criminal cases.
Serious Charges Against Accused
He is reportedly involved in several serious offences, including:
- Attempt to murder
- Rioting
- Criminal intimidation
- Kidnapping
- Assault on police personnel
- Drug-related activities
Linked to Attacks on Police
Police sources revealed that Lahu Gujjar was also linked to attacks on police teams in areas such as:
- Bishnah
- Miran Sahib
- Bari Brahmana
He had previously managed to escape during raids with the help of his associates.
Arrest After Specific Intelligence
Acting on specific inputs, a police team led by Inspector Jatinder Singh (SHO) successfully apprehended the accused, marking a significant success for law enforcement agencies in the region.

Police said further investigation is underway to uncover more links and possible associates connected to the accused.
