NEW DELHI, April 4, 2026 : A Delhi court on Saturday remanded Shabir Ahmed Lone, an alleged handler of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), to seven days of judicial custody, following a plea by the Delhi Police.
Lone had earlier been in five-day police custody after his arrest on March 29 by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
Arrest Linked to Terror Module
According to police, Lone was apprehended from the Ghazipur area of New Delhi in connection with a terror module uncovered in February.
The module came to light after pro-Pakistan and pro-terror posters were found at several locations, including the Janpath Metro Station, raising security concerns in the national capital.
‘Highly Trained Terror Operative’
The Delhi Police described Lone as a “hardcore and highly trained terrorist”, alleging that he had established links with handlers operating on behalf of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
He is also known by aliases Raja and Kashmiri, and is a resident of Srinagar.
Role in Anti-National Activities
Investigators believe Lone was acting as a handler of a recently busted module, which was involved in pasting anti-national posters across multiple locations in Delhi and Kolkata.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities are continuing their probe to uncover further links, network operatives, and possible cross-border connections tied to the module.
