JAMMU, April 7, 2026 : Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo conducted a high-level review of flagship urban schemes to accelerate sanitation, housing, and livelihood initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, progress under key schemes like Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), AMRUT 2.0, and Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY-NULM) was assessed.
🔹 The Chief Secretary stressed faster execution of projects, especially in:
- Waste management & sanitation
- Sewerage & water treatment
- Urban housing completion
🔹 Under PMAY (Urban):
- Over 31,000 houses completed out of 39,000+ sanctioned
- Push for timely financial assistance & beneficiary awareness
🔹 Under AMRUT 2.0:
- Departments directed to fix strict timelines and ensure completion without delays
🔹 Major achievements:
- 2.56 lakh+ urban poor identified under livelihood schemes
- Expansion of social security coverage across vulnerable groups
🔹 Key initiative launched:
- Single-Use Plastic Challan & IEC Portal to curb plastic use and boost awareness
The Chief Secretary emphasized efficient monitoring, timely delivery, and accountability, stating that these schemes are crucial for improving urban living standards and boosting livelihoods across J&K.
