Jammu, April 16, 2026 : Uday Bhanu Chib, national president of the Indian Youth Congress, launched a strong attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of vote theft, misuse of institutions, and failure to deliver on key promises.
Chib alleged that institutions like the Election Commission and agencies such as ED and CID are being misused, claiming this undermines democratic processes. He said the 2024 elections proved that a united opposition can challenge the BJP, noting that despite claims of “400 plus,” the party fell significantly short.
Expressing confidence about the future, Chib predicted a powerful political shift in 2029. He asserted that growing dissatisfaction among the public would result in a strong wave that could sweep away the BJP from power.
He also raised concerns over alleged restrictions on social media, claiming that influencers and dissenting voices are being targeted and suppressed. He added that legal battles are ongoing to challenge such actions.
On youth-related issues, Chib criticized unfulfilled promises, particularly regarding employment and development projects like smart cities. He questioned how young people could trust leadership that fails to deliver.
Highlighting leadership alternatives, he said that many youth have faith in Rahul Gandhi, citing his focus on youth, women, and constitutional values.
On the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, Chib questioned the ground reality, pointing to concerns raised by communities and restrictions faced by devotees at religious sites.
Despite his criticism, he emphasized faith in the Constitution, stating that attempts to suppress voices will not succeed and that democratic rights will continue to be exercised without fear.
