Srinagar, April 18, 2026 : The first batch of 431 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir departed for Saudi Arabia to perform the annual Haj pilgrimage, marking the beginning of this year’s sacred journey.
The group, comprising 230 men and 201 women, left in three flights from Srinagar. Comprehensive arrangements for transportation, baggage handling, and documentation were made at the Haj House in Bemina to ensure a smooth and organized departure.
Emotional scenes were witnessed as hundreds of family members gathered to bid farewell, offering prayers and well-wishes to the departing pilgrims.
Officials stated that a total of 4,764 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to undertake the Haj pilgrimage this year.
