Rajouri, April 18, 2026 : Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa Memorial Museum and Library in Rajouri, honoring the legacy and sacrifice of the late senior officer.
Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, a 2001-batch JKAS officer and Additional District Development Commissioner, lost his life on May 10 last year when a Pakistani artillery shell struck his residential quarters during unprovoked shelling.
Paying heartfelt tributes, Sinha highlighted Thapa’s selfless service, dedication, and commitment to public welfare, stating that the memorial will inspire future generations to serve with integrity and courage.
A documentary showcasing his life and contributions was screened during the ceremony. Family members, along with senior officials from security forces, police, and civil administration, were present to honor his memory.
Thapa was widely respected for his people-centric approach and played a crucial role in handling sensitive situations, including the tragic incident in Badhaal village. He also served in key administrative roles such as Mission Director of the J&K Skill Development Mission and Special Secretary in the Labour and Employment Department.
The memorial stands as a tribute to his service and sacrifice for the nation.
