Kulgam, May 7, 2026 : Kulgam Police, in coordination with Revenue authorities, on Wednesday retrieved State land worth nearly ₹1 crore from the possession of an alleged drug peddler in Devsar as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan.
Officials said the retrieved land measures 5 Kanal and 12 Marlas and is located in Malwan under Khasra No. 697 min. The land was allegedly under the illegal occupation of Shahzad Ahmad Paddar, son of Gull Mohammad Paddar, who is involved in FIR No. 40/2020 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Devsar.
The property, consisting mainly of orchards, has an estimated market value of around ₹1 crore. Authorities said the operation was carried out jointly by police and the Revenue Department to curb the financial networks linked to narcotics trafficking in Kulgam.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anayat Ali Choudhary said strict action against drug peddlers and illegally acquired assets will continue. Police also appealed to the public to share information regarding drug trafficking and illegal encroachments, assuring complete confidentiality and strict legal action against offenders.
