Srinagar, May 12,2026 : In a significant action under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Monday attached property worth nearly ₹1.2 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in the Gasoo Hazratbal area of Srinagar.
According to officials, the attached assets include a double-storeyed residential house along with a piece of land owned by Maqsood Hussain Khan, son of Abdul Majeed Khan, a resident of Banday Lane Hazratbal presently residing at Gasoo Hazratbal.
Police said the action was executed by Police Station Nigeen under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 42/2023 registered under Sections 8/20, 21, 29 NDPS Act at Police Station Nigeen and FIR No. 20/2025 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal.
During the course of investigation, authorities found that the property had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from illegal narcotics trafficking activities.
Officials further stated that the attachment order strictly prohibits the owner from selling, transferring, leasing, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property without legal permission.
Reaffirming its commitment against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police said the anti-drug campaign across Jammu and Kashmir will continue with intensified action against narcotics networks and those financially benefiting from the trade.
Police also appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share any information related to drug peddling or suspicious activities to help build a drug-free society.
