Bandipora, May 14, 2026 : Continuing its intensified crackdown on the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, Sopore Police on Thursday attached immovable property worth approximately ₹20 lakh belonging to an alleged terror handler linked with the banned militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
According to an official police spokesperson, the attached property comprises 10 marlas of land located in the Kehnusa area of Bandipora district.
Police identified the property owner as Majid Ahmad Sofi alias Bisati, a resident of New Colony Sopore, who is allegedly involved in terror-related activities operating from across the border.
The attachment action was carried out in connection with a case registered at Sopore Police Station under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act.
Officials stated that investigations revealed the accused was presently operating from Pakistan or Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as a terror handler affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen and was allegedly involved in facilitating, coordinating and orchestrating terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley.
Police further said the attachment proceedings were conducted after following all legal formalities in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, concerned Revenue officials and independent witnesses.
The action is being viewed as part of the ongoing strategy by security agencies to dismantle the financial and logistical support structures linked to militancy and terror networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities reiterated that strict legal action would continue against individuals involved in terror financing, cross-border militancy and activities threatening public peace and national security.
