SRINAGAR, June 09, 2026 : The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has extended the arrangement for the manual acceptance of challans filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir, until July 31, 2026, providing additional time for the complete transition to the online filing system.

According to an order issued by the Office of the Registrar General, the extension has been granted in continuation of the earlier High Court Order No. 608 of 2026/RG/GS dated April 23, 2026. The court directed that manual acceptance of ACB challans shall continue under the same terms and conditions already prescribed.

However, the High Court made it clear that no further extension will be granted beyond July 31, 2026, emphasizing the need for all concerned authorities to address and resolve existing technical and procedural bottlenecks related to the online submission of challans within the stipulated timeframe.

The order, issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma, has been circulated among judicial officers, the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Crime Branch, and other concerned departments for necessary compliance and action.

The extension is aimed at ensuring that ongoing investigations and prosecution processes are not adversely affected during the transition phase, while simultaneously encouraging departments to expedite the implementation of a fully functional digital filing mechanism.

Legal observers believe the move reflects the judiciary’s commitment to balancing administrative efficiency with the uninterrupted processing of anti-corruption cases, while advancing the broader objective of digital governance within the justice delivery system.

With July 31 now set as the final deadline, all stakeholders have been directed to ensure readiness for the complete adoption of the online challan filing process, marking a significant step toward modernization and transparency in judicial procedures.
