Jammu, July 17, 2026 : In a significant move to strengthen the fight against cybercrime, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of five senior police officers to the newly established Jammu & Kashmir Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C) with immediate effect.
The decision is part of the administration’s broader strategy to enhance cyber policing capabilities, improve coordination among law enforcement agencies, and effectively tackle the growing challenges posed by cyber fraud, online financial crimes, identity theft, digital espionage, and other technology-driven offences.
The JK4C has been established as a specialized coordination and intelligence hub to streamline cybercrime investigations, facilitate inter-agency cooperation, strengthen digital forensic capabilities, and ensure a faster response to cyber-related incidents across the Union Territory.
According to the government order, the transferred officers will assume their new responsibilities immediately and play a key role in developing a robust cyber security framework. Their expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the Centre’s operational efficiency, investigation standards, and cybercrime prevention initiatives.
The establishment of the JK4C reflects the government’s increasing focus on modernizing policing infrastructure in response to the rapid rise in cyber threats. Officials believe the dedicated coordination centre will improve intelligence sharing, capacity building, and technological preparedness while enhancing public confidence in the cybercrime response system.
