New Delhi, July 28, 2026 :The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, with veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja making his return to the red-ball setup, while Saransh Jain received his maiden Test call-up.
The two-match series forms part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
Jadeja Returns, Saransh Jain Gets Maiden Opportunity
Experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been recalled to strengthen India’s spin department, while domestic performer Saransh Jain has earned his first-ever place in the national Test squad following impressive performances in domestic cricket.
Bumrah, Sai Sudharsan Await Fitness Clearance
Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and top-order batter B Sai Sudharsan have been included in the squad, but their participation remains subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Meanwhile, spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar was unavailable for selection for the opening Test after sustaining an injury during India’s recent white-ball tour of England.
Test Series Schedule
India will begin their Sri Lanka campaign with the first Test at Galle from August 15–19, followed by the second Test at Colombo’s SSC Ground from August 23–27.
