Srinagar, Aug 08, 2026 : J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah backed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks that Gen Z grievances are genuine and that protesting does not make young people anti-national.
🔹 Omar called for an end to action against students protesting alleged NEET irregularities, saying dissent can help ensure accountability.
🔹 On PoK, he sought an impartial investigation into reported civilian casualties.
🔹 On the controversy involving Iltija Mufti, Omar termed the FIR a “fixed match” and criticised the PDP’s handling of the issue.
🔹 He said fruit-laden trucks and petroleum tankers are being given priority on the Jammu–Srinagar highway amid Amarnath Yatra restrictions.
🔹 Omar urged commuters to remain patient during landslides and road restoration, while NHAI, police and civil authorities work to maintain traffic.
🔹 He said the Amarnath Yatra is progressing smoothly, with pilgrims returning safely.
