Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Mahatama Gandhi: A Symbol of Non-Violence held at GDC Sumbal”
Sumbal: As part of the series of events being organised in connection with Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti 2022, Debates and Seminars Committee organised an Essay Writing Competition on 16-09-2022. The theme of the competition was “Mahatma Gandhi: A Symbol of Non-Violence”.
Students from various semesters and streams participated in the competition. Worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl also made a visit to the venue of competition as gesture of encouragement for participants. Other faculty members accompanying worthy Principal included Prof. Bashir Ahmed Khan and Dr. Aadil Mohiuddin Sheikh. The competition was coordinated by Prof.Riyaz Ahmed Kuchay, Convener, D&S Committee.
Essays were evaluated by Dr. Munazah, Lecturer English. First position was secured by Sabiya Tabassum from BSc 6th Semester and runner up position was secured by Mohammad Iqbal Khan, again a student of 6th Semester. The winners will be felicitated at valedictory function scheduled on 1st October, 2022.
