PULWAMA, AUGUST 09, 2026 : As India prepares to celebrate its 80th Independence Day, a massive Tiranga Rally was organised in Pulwama district on Sunday under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, bringing together hundreds of students, local youth and government officials.
The rally aimed to promote patriotism and encourage citizens to participate actively in Independence Day celebrations while highlighting the Tricolour as a symbol of India’s unity, sovereignty and shared national identity.
🇮🇳 Tricolour Takes Centre Stage
Participants carried the National Flag during the rally, creating a vibrant patriotic atmosphere across the district.
The initiative seeks to encourage citizens to view the Tricolour not merely as a national symbol, but as a representation of the country’s unity, democratic values and collective identity.
The campaign also pays tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and seeks to strengthen patriotic spirit among citizens.
🏠 ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign encourages citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and develop a personal connection with the Tricolour.
Since its launch, the campaign has become an important part of Independence Day celebrations across the country.
🎶 Special Focus on 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’
This year’s celebrations will also feature a special focus on the commemoration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’.
A range of activities are planned across districts, blocks and panchayats to mark the occasion and reinforce the message of national unity and pride.
