SRINAGAR, August 20, 2026 : Employees of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Wednesday staged a protest inside the Assembly premises against an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) concerning the deputation of Deputy Secretary Bilal Ahmad Mir.
The protesting employees assembled within the Assembly complex and raised objections to the deputation order, expressing concern over the decision and urging the competent authorities to reconsider the matter.
Employees Demand Review of Order
The staff members sought a review of the GAD order, maintaining that their concerns should be examined objectively by the competent authorities before any further administrative action is taken.
During the protest, the employees called for an appropriate and amicable resolution, stressing that the matter should be dealt with in accordance with applicable rules and established administrative procedures.
They urged the authorities to intervene and examine the circumstances surrounding the deputation order, saying a fair resolution would be in the larger interest of the Legislative Assembly and its employees.
Appeal for Administrative Intervention
The protesting employees maintained that the issue requires careful consideration by the competent authority and expressed hope that their grievances would be heard before any final decision is taken.
The protest remained focused on seeking a review of the deputation decision and an administrative resolution acceptable to all concerned.
The employees reiterated their expectation that the authorities would consider their representations objectively and take an appropriate decision in accordance with rules and procedures.
