PESHAWAR, SEPTEMBER 03, 2026 : At least 15 terrorists were killed after Pakistani security forces foiled an attempted infiltration along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing, ISPR, said on Thursday.
According to ISPR, the terrorists were attempting to cross into Pakistan opposite North Waziristan during the intervening night of August 31 and September 1. The operation continued for approximately 36 hours, culminating in the deaths of all 15 militants.
The military said the attackers belonged to “Fitna al-Khawarij,” the term used by Pakistani authorities for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
⚔️ WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED
Following the operation, security forces conducted a sanitisation exercise in the area and recovered a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition, according to ISPR.
The Pakistani military again accused the Afghan Taliban authorities of failing to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan. ISPR also alleged shortcomings in border management and called on the Afghan authorities to meet their international obligations.
🔴 21 MILITANTS KILLED IN BALOCHISTAN
The latest operation comes days after the Pakistan Army reported that 21 terrorists were killed in two separate clashes in Balochistan.
The clashes took place in Nokcha in Chagai district and Ziarat Cross in Pishin district on Monday night. According to the military, five security personnel and one Customs official were also killed during the encounters.
Pakistan has witnessed a significant rise in militant violence in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, two regions bordering Afghanistan.
