Ahmedabad, September 9, 2026 : India signed off its World Archery Para Series Stage III campaign in spectacular fashion on Wednesday, winning two gold and four bronze medals on the final day in Ahmedabad.
Paralympic champions Harvinder Singh and world No. 1 Sheetal Devi led India’s medal charge, delivering outstanding performances in the recurve and compound events.
🥇 Harvinder & Bhawna Clinch Mixed-Team Gold
Double Paralympic medallist Harvinder Singh, partnering with Bhawna, powered India to gold in the para recurve mixed-team event.
The Indian pair dominated China’s Liang Qiurong and Xia Lei, completing a convincing 6-0 victory in straight sets.
India won the opening set 35-31, followed by 36-33 in the second before sealing the gold with a 34-32 victory in the third.
🥇 Sheetal Devi Wins Dramatic Individual Gold
World No. 1 and reigning world champion Sheetal Devi produced a stunning performance to capture gold in the para compound women’s individual event.
Facing Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan, Sheetal remained composed throughout a closely fought final.
The scores were level at 144-144 after five ends, forcing a shoot-off.
With the gold on the line, Sheetal delivered a perfect 10, while Aizada managed a 9, handing the Indian star another major victory.
🥉 Sheetal Adds Mixed-Team Bronze
Sheetal also secured a second medal after teaming up with Toman Kumar to win bronze in the compound mixed-team event.
The Indian duo defeated Iraq’s Sara Al Hamid and Abbas Kadim 157-145 in the bronze-medal playoff.
Sheetal and Toman were remarkably consistent, scoring 39 points in each of the first three ends before finishing with a perfect 40 in the fourth.
🥉 Bhawna Wins Women’s Recurve Bronze
Bhawna added another bronze medal in the para recurve women’s individual event, defeating compatriot Rajshree Rathod 6-0 in an all-Indian bronze-medal playoff.
🥉 Sarita Clinches Compound Bronze
India’s Sarita also stood on the podium after edging China’s Wang Huiting 141-140 to claim bronze in the para compound women’s individual event.
🥉 Toman Kumar Completes India’s Medal Haul
World No. 1 and reigning world champion Toman Kumar rounded off India’s impressive campaign with another bronze.
He defeated Iraq’s Abbas Kadhim 143-138 in the para compound men’s individual event, securing his second medal of the competition.
