NEW DELHI, October 11, 2026 : More than 100 protesters were detained in Delhi on Sunday as the protest called by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) entered its second day, amid heavy security deployment across the national capital.
The protesters raised slogans and attempted to march towards Jantar Mantar from different parts of Delhi. Several demonstrators were reportedly seen being dragged into police buses as security personnel intervened during the protest.
Members of several student organisations, including the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS), along with CJP supporters, were among those detained while attempting to march towards Jantar Mantar.
CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas was also among those detained, according to police sources.
The protest continued for the second consecutive day, with authorities maintaining heightened security across Delhi as demonstrators sought to reach the protest venue.
