Srinagar, July 2, 2025: In response to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s directive to reopen long-ignored terror cases, Jammu and Kashmir Police have established dedicated helplines in Budgam and Anantnag to support families affected by terrorism.
In Budgam, a grievance cell and helpline has been set up at the District Police Office to assist victims’ families.
“This initiative aims to streamline the registration and resolution of grievances for terrorism-affected families across the district,” police said in a statement.
The Budgam helpline number is 9541902668, operational Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It will serve as a central contact point for accessing essential services, assistance, and redressal mechanisms.
Similarly, Anantnag Police have launched their own helpline to extend support to individuals and families impacted by terror-related incidents. Victims or their kin can now easily report grievances or seek help through the newly created communication channels.
These steps follow LG Sinha’s strong call for justice and rehabilitation for families who lost loved ones to terrorism over the past three decades. The LG also directed that government jobs be provided to the next of kin (NoKs) of such victims on a priority basis.
