Srinagar, July 5, 2025: In a major crackdown on terror financing, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday attached a residential property in Srinagar allegedly acquired through illegal proceeds linked to terrorist activities.
The action was taken under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), based on an FIR registered at Khanyar Police Station, officials said.
According to a police spokesperson, the property—comprising land and a residential structure valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore—is located in Mir Masjid Mohalla, Shallabagh area of Khanyar. The property is registered in the name of Mohammad Yousuf Shah and is currently occupied by his son, Masood Hussain Shah.
Investigations revealed that the property was procured using funds derived from terror-linked activities. Following due legal process, the property has been formally seized and attached.
The police have also issued a prohibition notice, barring the sale, lease, or transfer of the property.
“This is part of a sustained effort to dismantle the terror ecosystem by crippling its financial networks,” the spokesperson said. “Such actions are vital to safeguarding the security and integrity of the nation.”
