Srinagar, Jul 6 – Minister for FCS&CA, Youth Services & Sports, and IT, Satish Sharma on Sunday championed the cause of digital empowerment and youth-led entrepreneurship at the FTII Traders Conclave 2025, held at SKICC, Srinagar.
Organised by the Federation of Trade and Industry of India (FTII) under the theme “Vocal for Local”, the conclave aimed to promote indigenous trade, tech integration, and entrepreneurial innovation. The event was attended by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, National Traders Welfare Board Chairman Sunil Singhi, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, and senior officials.
“Digital innovation and youth participation are key to shaping a self-reliant and vibrant J&K,” said Sharma, adding that IT initiatives are simplifying trade processes, boosting transparency in services, and modernizing consumer grievance redressal.
He stressed the need for a youth-driven economic model, highlighting plans for entrepreneurship cells, skill development under youth and sports programs, and digital skilling platforms.
“Border districts and trade hubs must evolve into innovation centres through youth engagement,” he noted, reaffirming the government’s commitment to consumer rights, streamlined digital services, and expansion of business opportunities for the youth.
Sharma also appreciated FTII for hosting the conclave in Kashmir and amplifying local entrepreneurial voices.
The conclave featured interactive sessions between policymakers, business leaders, and young ntrepreneurs, focusing on trade facilitation and network building.
