Baramulla, Jul 13, 2025: In a significant outreach initiative, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Sunday handed over 40 appointment letters to the next of kin (NoKs) of terrorism victims at an event held in Baramulla. The move reaffirms the administration’s commitment to providing employment, financial aid, and justice to those affected by militancy in the Union Territory.
During his interaction with families, the LG assured comprehensive support from the government.
“Those who are eligible will be given government jobs. Financial assistance will be extended to those who haven’t received any yet. In cases where FIRs were not filed or properties were seized, appropriate legal action will be taken, including FIR registration and return of property,” he stated.
The LG also announced the launch of a dedicated helpline number for victims of terrorism.
“I urge all victims to submit their applications via the helpline. Each case will be taken up for inquiry and action,” Sinha added.
Strong Message to Terror Sponsors
Reiterating his stand from July 7, LG Sinha blamed Pakistan for continuing attempts to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our neighbour, Pakistan, the originator of terrorism, is constantly trying to derail the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. Some forces — both external and internal — are not happy with the region’s progress,” he said during a previous event in Anantnag.
Call for Unity
While speaking at the Harbah celebration at Teerthraj Sidhlakshmi Peeth Trust, the LG commended the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces, crediting them for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
He emphasized the need for societal unity to counter disruptive elements:
“Whether they are insiders or outsiders, we must raise awareness and unite society to stand firmly against them.”
