Ramban/Jammu, August 18, 2025: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for traffic on Monday after heavy rains triggered multiple landslides and shooting stones in Ramban district, officials said.
Traffic police confirmed that all vehicular movement has been halted due to continuous rainfall and sliding rocks along several stretches of the highway. Commuters have been advised to avoid travel until the weather improves and clearance work is completed.
Meanwhile, traffic is moving normally on Mughal and Sinthan roads, with officials urging strict lane discipline to prevent congestion.
Landslides were also reported near Sharda Mata temple in Udhampur, as well as Monkey Morh and Maroog areas of Ramban. Men and machinery have been deployed to restore connectivity at the earliest, officials added.
