Srinagar, August 18, 2025 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has terminated the services of Farooq Ahmad Najar, an Orderly-cum-Chowkidar in the Irrigation Division Tral, after an inquiry confirmed his involvement in a narcotics case registered under FIR No. 43/2024 at Police Station Kakapora.
Najar, earlier suspended following his arrest and judicial custody over the recovery of brown sugar, had denied the charges during departmental proceedings. However, the Inquiry Officer, after reviewing police records and evidence, held him guilty of misconduct in violation of service rules and detrimental to public welfare.
Acting on the findings, the competent authority invoked Article 311(2) of the Constitution of India to order his dismissal from service with immediate effect. He has also been barred from securing any future government employment.
