SRINAGAR, Aug 12, 2025 :  The J&K Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against Fayaz-ud-din Shora, then Naazir (Sr. Assistant) at Tehsil Office Khag, Budgam, in a 2023 bribery trap case.

According to the ACB, FIR No. 14/2023 was registered on August 3, 2023, following a complaint that Shora demanded ₹2,000 to list an under-trial property dispute case before the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Khag. A trap was laid, and the accused was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. The cash was recovered on the spot, and chemical tests confirmed phenolphthalein traces on his hands.

The investigation established offences under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. After obtaining prosecution sanction from the government, the chargesheet was submitted before the Court of Additional Special Anti-Corruption Judge, Srinagar. The case will be heard next on September 24, 2025.
