Srinagar, July 1, 2025: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K has unearthed serious irregularities in the recruitment process for Fireman and Fireman Driver posts in the Fire and Emergency Services Department conducted in 2020.
In a statement, the ACB informed the public—especially aggrieved aspirants—that its preliminary verification confirmed wrongful selection of candidates, prompting the registration of FIR No. 01/2025 at Police Station Central ACB on January 1, 2025.
The ongoing investigation involves:

Uncovering the role of touts/middlemen

Scrutinizing records of around 700 recruits
The ACB acknowledged that the probe is time-consuming due to the volume of records and complexity of the alleged bribery network. However, it assured the public that the investigation is progressing vigorously, with a firm commitment to expose all involved and deliver justice.
The Bureau urged patience as it meticulously works to complete the investigation and hold those responsible accountable.
