Rajouri/Jammu, March 4, 2026 : The Indian Army opened fire at suspected terrorists attempting to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district early Tuesday, officials said.
The movement of suspected individuals was noticed around 4:15 am in the Turkandi forward area, close to the LoC. Alert troops guarding the border responded swiftly, opening fire to thwart the infiltration attempt.
Reinforcements Deployed
Officials said additional forces have been rushed to the area, and a massive search operation is currently underway to sanitise the region and ensure no breach has occurred.
Earlier Foiled Bid
On February 19–20, army troops had similarly foiled an infiltration attempt in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri, recovering arms and ammunition during the operation.
Security forces remain on high alert along the LoC amid continued attempts to push infiltrators into the region.
