Srinagar, September 25, 2025 : National Conference president Farooq Abdullah urged the Centre to engage in dialogue with the people of Ladakh to address their aspirations, following violence in Leh over statehood demands.
Abdullah said, “Ladakh is a border region. With China lurking, it’s time to resolve issues quickly. Talks are the way forward.”
Responding to allegations against climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, he added that Wangchuk is not responsible for the unrest and emphasized that using force will only escalate tensions.
Wednesday’s clashes during a shutdown called by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) left 4 dead and at least 89 injured, amid demands for Ladakh’s statehood.
