Pulwama, August 17: —A cloudburst, possibly originating from a nearby forest area, triggered flash floods in the Achgoza area of Rajpora Tehsil, Pulwama district, on Friday evening. The sudden deluge causedw water to surge into the village, inundating several residential houses and causing panic among residents.

As the floodwaters gushed through the village, many homes were affected, with water entering ground floors and damaging property. The situation caused immediate concern, with residents working together to safeguard their belongings and move to safer locations.

Fortunately, the water level has begun to recede slowly, providing some relief to the affected families. Local authorities have been monitoring the situation closely, and emergency response teams are on standby to assist with any further developments.

No casualties have been reported, but the incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of the area to such natural calamities. Local officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the situation stabilizes.

Efforts are now focused on assessing the damage caused by the flash floods and providing assistance to those affected. The local administration has assured that relief measures will be taken promptly to help the impacted families recover from the ordeal.
