SRINAGAR, May 4, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday called for timely execution of development works and stronger inter-departmental coordination while reviewing the functioning of various government departments at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
Soon after the reopening of the Civil Secretariat under the ‘Darbar Move’, the Chief Minister conducted an extensive inspection of offices to assess overall functioning and facilities available for employees and the public.
During his visit, he toured key sections including ministers’ chambers, officers’ rooms, clerical halls, and the newly upgraded public waiting area. Interacting with staff and citizens, he assured that further improvements would be undertaken to enhance infrastructure and strengthen public service delivery.
Later, chairing a meeting of administrative secretaries, the Chief Minister reviewed departmental performance in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, and his advisor.
Emphasising governance efficiency, Omar Abdullah stressed the importance of timely execution of projects, effective implementation of decisions on the ground, and seamless coordination among departments. He directed officials to ensure that policies translate into visible outcomes for the public.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Estates Department to make adequate arrangements for government employees, including proper residential facilities, and to ensure the smooth functioning of offices during the summer session in Srinagar.
The review reflects the administration’s focus on responsive governance, improved coordination, and enhanced public service delivery following the seasonal shift of offices to the summer capital.
