Under the Joint Parcel Product–Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS), the train will operate between Adarsh Nagar in New Delhi and Budgam in central Kashmir. Initially, the service will run on a trial basis until May 31, after which it may become permanent depending on demand and usage.

This dedicated freight service is expected to significantly benefit traders dealing in perishable and high-value goods such as apples, cherries, saffron, walnuts, and traditional Kashmiri handicrafts like pashmina shawls. With a transit time of 23–24 hours, it offers a faster and more reliable alternative to road transport, helping maintain product freshness and reduce losses.
According to railway officials, the initiative comes in response to sustained demand from fruit growers and handicraft businesses in the region. The goal is to provide a safe, economical, and time-efficient logistics solution, while also strengthening the broader economy of Jammu and Kashmir.
