Srinagar, July 29, 2025 : Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-in-C), Northern Command, today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to brief him on the recently concluded Operation Mahadev. He was accompanied by Lt. Gen. Prashant Srivastava, GOC 15 Corps.
During the meeting, the LG congratulated the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police for the successful joint operation that led to the elimination of three Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack.
Lt. Gen. Sharma informed the LG that extensive search operations had been underway in the Dachigam forest and surrounding areas of South Kashmir for several months following intelligence inputs suggesting terrorist presence. Acting on specific leads, a coordinated operation involving the Army, J&K Police, CRPF, and intelligence agencies was launched. The operation culminated in a significant breakthrough with the neutralization of all identified threats.
The LG lauded the synergy among the security forces and reaffirmed the administration’s full support in maintaining peace and countering terrorism in the region.
