Srinagar, July 9: In a significant move to strengthen its technical workforce, the Jal Shakti Department has promoted 23 Junior Engineers (JEs) to the rank of Assistant Engineer (AE). The promotions were formalized through Government Order No. 167-JK (JSD) of 2025, issued on July 7 by Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra.
The development is expected to enhance operational efficiency and boost water supply management across Jammu and Kashmir.
Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ahmed Rana congratulated the promoted engineers and expressed confidence that the elevation would inspire greater dedication toward achieving departmental goals.
The Minister also directed officials to immediately refer all accrued vacancies to the recruiting agency to ensure fast-track recruitment and timely filling of critical posts.
Highlighting the department’s continued focus on human resource development, Rana noted that hundreds of promotional vacancies have been filled recently—from Assistant Engineers to Chief Engineers.
He also called for the implementation of a robust performance monitoring system across all levels to ensure accountability, efficiency, and improved service delivery.
