SRINAGAR, November 21, 2025 : Authorities on Friday intensified the ongoing security inspection drive across Kashmir, conducting surprise checks of doctors’ lockers and staff storage spaces at hospitals in Ganderbal and Kupwara districts, officials said.
The inspections are part of a heightened vigilance campaign aimed at ensuring that hospital premises remain secure, transparent, and free from any misuse—especially in the aftermath of recent arrests linked to the “white collar terror” module and the recovery of arms from a doctor’s locker at GMC Anantnag earlier this month.
Surprise Checks in Ganderbal
Police teams, working closely with hospital administrations, conducted surprise inspections of lockers belonging to doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff across multiple health institutions in Ganderbal district.
Officials said the checks were aimed at:

Medical staff were also sensitised about maintaining vigilance, reporting suspicious behaviour, and ensuring that hospital spaces are used solely for legitimate purposes.

In north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, authorities carried out a similar inspection drive at Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara.
