Jammu, March 19, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday attended Navreh celebrations in Jammu and expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir holds immense potential to emerge as a vibrant cultural hub and a prosperous Union Territory.
The event was organised by the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha at Amphalla, where the Lt Governor highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of the region.
Addressing the gathering, Manoj Sinha said that achieving the vision of a developed Jammu and Kashmir depends largely on the younger generation.
“I sincerely hope that our youth will draw strength from the wisdom of our ancestors and work with determination to elevate Jammu and Kashmir among the country’s developed regions,” he said.
The Lt Governor invoked the blessings of Maa Sharika and Maa Durga, praying for health, prosperity and well-being of the people. Extending greetings on the occasion of Navreh, he wished that the New Year brings renewed hope, positivity and progress for all.
He described Navreh and Navratri as not just festivals, but a spiritual journey of inner transformation, emphasising the importance of devotion, discipline and self-realisation.
Highlighting the essence of spiritual traditions, the Lt Governor spoke about the four stages of devotion — listening, contemplation, internalisation and attaining higher consciousness, expressing hope that devotees experience these stages in their lives.
He also urged the youth to stay connected with India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, stating that they will not only inherit the legacy but also reshape and strengthen it for a developed future.
On the occasion, Manoj Sinha felicitated Brij Lal Bhat, a recipient of the Padma Shri, for his contributions.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including K K Khosa, President of the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Deepak Dhar, senior Vice President, along with other office-bearers, senior officials and prominent citizens.
