Jammu, January 14, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma on Wednesday extended warm greetings to veterans and their families on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day, paying tribute to their courage, dedication and supreme sacrifices for the nation.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed heartfelt gratitude to the veterans and saluted the indomitable spirit of the men and women of the Armed Forces.
“I express my deepest gratitude to the Veer Naris and family members of veterans,” the Office of the Lieutenant Governor said in a post on X.
Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, along with all ranks of the Northern Command, also conveyed greetings to veterans, their families and Veer Naris on the occasion of the 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day 2026.
In a message shared on X, the Northern Command reaffirmed its respect and commitment to honouring the service and sacrifices of the veteran community, describing them as the enduring backbone of the nation’s defence.
The Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to address the 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day rally later in the day.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army on Tuesday began the Veterans’ Day commemorations with a mega two-day ex-servicemen rally in the border district of Rajouri, underscoring the nation’s resolve to recognise and honour the invaluable contribution of veterans to India’s security and sovereignty.
