On the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended warm greetings to the people of Sikkim and highlighted the state’s unique cultural, spiritual, and developmental achievements.
“Sikkim, the sacred land of Guru Padmasambhava, shines like a radiant star among Himalayan states and Union Territories. It is globally recognised as a model of organic farming, peace, and spirituality,” the Lieutenant Governor said while addressing the gathering.
He further noted that Sikkim’s linguistic diversity and rich cultural heritage have earned it a distinguished place on the global stage.
Highlighting the state’s progress, Sinha said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sikkim has achieved remarkable growth and remains at the forefront of India’s developmental vision.
The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the strong emotional bond shared among Indian states and Union Territories, stating that the spirit of unity, compassion, and brotherhood continues to strengthen the nation.
Referring to the landmark J&K-Sikkim horticulture agreement signed in July 2022, Sinha said the collaboration has produced encouraging results by promoting interaction among youth, farmers, and researchers from both regions.
“I regard this thriving collaboration as a prime example of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. This spirit of mutual partnership will help realise our collective vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he said.
