ANANTNAG, May 2, 2026 : Stepping up its offensive against drug trafficking and illegal encroachments, the District Administration Anantnag carried out a major demolition drive in Waghama area of Bijbehara, dismantling 15 незаконally constructed structures on Saturday.
The action was undertaken as part of the ongoing 100-Day Intensified Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign, reflecting the administration’s firm resolve to dismantle narcotics networks and eliminate assets linked to drug-related activities.
According to officials, the operation was conducted jointly by revenue authorities with active support from the police department. During the drive, 15 shops constructed illegally on State and Kahcharai land—falling under Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) in Estate Waghama—were demolished. These structures were reportedly associated with individuals involved in cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In addition to demolition, authorities successfully retrieved encroached State and Kahcharai land, marking a significant step toward reclaiming public property and restoring lawful ownership.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy, the District Administration emphasized that such strict and sustained कार्रवाई will continue throughout the campaign. Officials underlined that targeting illegal properties linked to the drug trade is a strategic move to break the supply chain and curb the spread of narcotics in the district.
The administration has also issued a stern warning, making it clear that any individual involved in drug peddling or illegal encroachments will face stringent legal consequences in the coming days.
The intensified drive signals a broader push to transform the anti-drug Campaign into a decisive and result-oriented mission across Jammu and Kashmir.
