Reasi, September 2, 2025 : The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra remained suspended for the eighth straight day on Tuesday as relentless rainfall and landslides continued to batter the Trikuta hills in Reasi district.

Authorities have barred the movement of pilgrims from the Katra base camp, citing safety concerns due to flash floods and slippery routes. The usually bustling pilgrimage base now wears a deserted look, with thousands of devotees anxiously awaiting the resumption of the yatra.

Officials from the Shrine Board and district administration said restoration work on damaged tracks and roads is underway, while the situation is being monitored round the clock.
